I declare Monday night to henceforth be known as.....

~ART NIGHT~

It's high time I made some time out of my busy busy schedule to include that thing I love the most!! I'm going to draw, I'm going to paint, I'm going to be crafty, I'm going to get myself started on Etsy!

To celebrate here's two pictures I've done in the last while...

Becoming Green

So last night I dressed up as Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West, as seen in Wicked the musical, not the Wizard of Oz) for my friend's 21st.

It was a long process...the week prior I had something to be at every night so I would only begin sewing at 10:30pm every night. I'll do a blog at a later time about the costume, but for today I'm going to show the process of becoming GREEN!

Costumed, wigless and very NOT green

First coat of green concealer mixed with powdered green eyeshadow

Can't forget the neck

Added definition to cheekbones with purple eyeshadow. Grey eyeliner used on lips. A mixture of purple, white and black eyeshadow for the eyes.

Pencil in eyebrows with black eyeliner

Hooray!

A little touch of colour in our lives

A significant title for a fairly insignificant post...here's some shots of Maera coloured, though not set into her backgrounds

Oh yeah..had some issues with toonboom for that second shot...thus the black bit of hair...I wanted to hit the computer in frustration so for now, I'm leaving it haha

A Barber, A Baker, A Hairdresser

I had another belated Halloween party to go to last Saturday, so I've had a very busy last two weeks. I made the Cabaret Vampire costume and then as soon as that was finished, had these 3 costumes to do!

I made everything for my costume from scratch (including the fingers in the pie) except the corset and gloves. The boys' costumes were pieced together with stuff from op shops, Sweeney's vest was once a suede jacket which I cut up and attacked with sandpaper and wood polish. I styled and cut Edward's wig, and did all of our makeup.

I'm reeeeaaaaallllly happy with how it all came out, I think we looked great!
